Information for parents

Dear Parents and Carers

Schools across the world and within Australia are now turning to mindfulness. The reason being, research shows that incorporating mindfulness and meditation into the classroom leads to improvements in teachers and students emotional wellbeing.

We are now learning mindfulness improves empathy, resilience, emotional regulation, self-awareness, focus, compassion and happiness creating a more peaceful and positive social environment in schools.

With a rapid increase in mental health issues in children and adolescents mindfulness and meditation can also provide kids with vital life skills to manage the stress and anxiety of high school potentially creating lasting change within our community.

The My Peaceful Universe Mindfulness Program for Primary Schools that we are introducing to our students, aged between 7 - 12 is fun and engaging and set's the right tone in which to communicate mindfulness and meditation to children.

The program finds creative ways to help children navigate their way through many 21st century issues such as managing difficult emotions, anxiety, dealing with challenging social situations or relationships, bullying, low self-esteem, technology addiction, insomnia, academic pressure and day to day stress helping children better manage their own emotional wellbeing and achieve a more positive outlook on life.

The many benefits of mindfulness and meditation can be further developed through consistent practice. Many parents in our community are already seeing amazing positive changes in their children's lives. This is why we highly recommend parents visit the My Peaceful Universe website at www.mypeacefuluniverse.org to learn more about mindfulness and meditation and access your children's favourite meditations at home.

Thank you for your support in this wonderful program
